Mission Statement

I have a potbelly pig named Petunia. She and I are embarking on a journey starting the first of May 2010 to walk across america. She has a stroller so I wont be making her walk the whole way!! she's just here for the ride!

Our trip starts around May 1, 2010 in Cannon Beach Oregon and we will walk to San Francisco down the 101 and the beach itself. Then we will turn left! and walk to the other coast!

I Encourage anyone and everyone to join me for any or all of my walk. Any acts of generosity, kindness or hospitality along the way is greatly appreciated.

My trip is NOT a fund raiser for any specific charity. If you feel inspired to make a contribution and donate time, or money, etc., I Encourage you to do it to a charity of your choice that you feel strongly about or get involved in your community and participate in volunteering and helping that way...or really whatever inspires you!

Like most people walking across america, I'm doing it for a cause. Initially I was torn between Cancer, HIV/AIDS, or Animal Rights. All things that mean very much to me. I've lost very close family to those diseases. I've been vegan and am now vegetarian for many years and feel very strongly to the awareness that needs to be spread and understood. Then, I got online and saw a number of people walking across america, for so many different reasons. From political stances on economy, budget and spending, education equality, to Cancer and other diseases, health awareness, to environmental and animal rights, etc.. I saw their passion, their vigor and their moral conviction to try and make a difference. Then it hit me...walk for all of them!
Walk to spread the awareness of "PASSION" "ENCOURAGEMENT" and "DIGNITY." We are all here together and can make a difference if we listen to each other, help each other, share with each other. Try to make a difference in each others lives.
This world is crazy. People trying to get ahead or stay ahead and at what costs..who does it hurt? Why don't they care?
Most people in America are very unhealthy and have the potential to have a variety of diseases plague them that could be easily avoided if we focused on better health, healthy food, exercise, avoiding stress and worry, not smoking, unnecessary medicine, being excessive and portion control.
My mission is simple, nothing is going to change this world unless it wants to be changed. We are that world, every individual on this planet. Do your part and encourage others to do theirs, through example of passion and encouragement.
Its important that we all find a way to pay it forward.
Do something different today..and tomorrow..and so on! Stop living on auto-pilot! Step out of your comfort zone.
